hbf and launch party...

well... yesterday was some shit...

got to the book fair mad late... my table was empty except for a couple books and a poster... and i didn't have a tent... so i was standing in that blazing sun yesterday with no respite for the heat... and the sun turning bottles of cold water into warm tea quickly... BUT... i met a lot of passionate artists who believe in and are pursuing their dreams... a lot of people were interested in the book... especially the artwork... not sure how i feel about that yet but i digress... but $25 was a turn off... brought it down to $20 and moved more units... met a lady who invited me to participate in the Long Island Book Fair... and a representative of Urban Literary Review Magazine is interested in doing a feature on my work... we'll see if those pan out...

in summation... next year i'll know to have a table cloth, chair and tent/umbrella... i do think i met the people i was supposed to meet though...

the party was aiight... f and e got me a gift in honor of the event... fisch came through... small crowd... about 20 something people... r and b came thru... otherwise crowd of strangers... fisch warmed em up nicely... did some pieces... i hoped up on the bar and read a few snippets... sold a few of the remaining copies in the spot... happened upon a couple of cartoonists and comic artists... i might start doing comic conventions too... we'll see...

i've sold books to friends and family before... and as much as i am humbled by the display of love and support... you're purchase was made because of loyalty to me... not necessarily because you think it's any good... anyway... the book is generating the kind of energy i anticipated... but i managed to get myself black out fucked up... had to exit earlier than anticipated... none-the-less... night was a success...

next time... i'll promote my shit better... but i liked getting feedback from the everyman (and woman) both positive and negative...

anyway... got e-mails to send and calls to make...

the journey has begun...
