Eat whatever you want...

But please don't try to guilt me into joining your cause...

More importantly... The Barnes & Noble in-store was a good experience... Thanks to Chelle Cordero for inviting me and the accomodating staff at B&N for taking care of us, especially Betsy and Alan who made sure we were comfortable...

It was good being out there and talking to people about my work... I stumbled through my first couple of pitches... but by the end of the night I figured out a way to say it without the "well... ums... ers"...

"It's the first in a series that tells how the people in a city bring it to life, make it 'breathe.' Each book looks at a different aspect of the human condition and death is a metaphor for how do you react at that moment where you feel you are about to loose everything. Death of your dignity if you need to find a public toilette. Death of a relationship that you desparately want to save. Death of everything when a love pentagon comes to a bloody end. Death of a fourteen young boy's sexual identity. Death of opportunity for a child born to unfortunate circumstance."

Or something like that... the first two lines were ver batim... the rest I think I made up just now...

also had the pleasure of spending some talking to Sara Taney Humphries whose Amoveo series of novels sounds like an intriguing adventure into the paranormal romance world...

Speaking of intriguing sounding... I also had a chance to speak to Janet Lane Walters another fantasy romance writer... and Charmaine (whose last name I forget since I didn't manage to grab her card) another romance writer...

I'm gonna launch the 2nd edition later this summer... get a tour started... some in-stores... some parties... will keep cyberspace informed of my activities... look for info somewhere toward the end of august or early sept...

Random Thoughts...

Teachers... Firefighters... Police Officers... any civil servant goes on strike... they're subject to the Taylor Laws where they pay back double their salary for everyday they miss work... the Senate is now divided because Tom Golisano was mad at the democrats for either a) the millionare tax they were about to impose or b) Malcolm Smoth (former/current Senate majority leader) used his blackberry during a meeting... he calculated with Dean Skelkos (Republican trash)... Hiram Monserrate (Democrat, girlfriend slashing trash)... and Pedro Espada (Republicrat puppet trash) to perform a coup... then Monserrat (can I pick on him cuz he's fat too?) switched back to the democrats and created a stale mate...

while our state government remains a punchline... these cats were getting paid until recently when DiNapoli grew a pair and froze their salaries...

Don't confuse this for an attack on democrats or republicans... nor am I anti revolution... but a blatant power grab? these cats and every other silent rank and file senator should pay us back twice the $16 mil they owe the City... every other civil service group would be subject to Taylor Law penalties if they didn't work for a month... and those people are usually striking so they can earn more money and better provide... $32 million would go a long way to easing the burdens of local governments...

You'd think people would be more concerned about this shit...

Gotta love overreaction... This video has generated controversy and fear among the Vox Pop patrons if the Daily News is to be believed... Does the abduction/destruction of a STATUE warrant a 3/4 page story? wtf? Let's get some real news out there and leave these interesting tid bits to weeklies and local papers...

So... I'm gonna launch a website around the time of the launch... put up some art work... blog... previews... short stories... yunno... the world of S.I.R. Pierre...

I'm releasing a trailer next week...

Got pots on many burners...

Off to fight for truth... justice... and the preservation of plant life...

  1. I liked your opening line. You know, PETA is all for the fair treatment of animals, but not all animals are vegetarian. So should we get rid of the predators (wolves, lions, tigers, bears, etc) because they don't meet PETA's standards either? Or maybe we should recondition predators like they want to do to us.

  2. You're right... what gets me the most is how these people (vegans) try to politicize a dietary decision...
